cnc vaccum

Hello there. I’ve been having this problem with a 5x10 laguna cnc with 2 10HP regenerative vacuum motors. ultra light MDF spoiled board where small and fairly large pieces move when cutting. At 600 inch per min set up. Base on vortex site. Any suggestions on how to improve vacuum holding will really appreciate. Thanks.

Try regular MDF and seal/ edgeband the edges...

Similar setup yet i use a single 25hp regen 5x 8 table, are you onion skinning ? consider tabs ? part strategy may need to cut smaller parts first and place closer to center. look at nesting strategy. i have one slip periodically yet not every sheet.

All good input. We hold 60x100 with far less vaccum. Lot of variables, how often are you resurfacing? As stated edges sealed especially with LDF is a good idea. When we can get LDF I bring it in in its own pack and we roll/seal the edges in the pack to make it easier but if your not cutting full sheets its critical to seal up the exposed areas especially with LDF but we do the same thing with MDF. Zone control is another option. Ive never had an issue holding pretty small parts (80 sq inches) or so but like James mentioned we onion skin by default on small parts if only for the extra dust pickup.

We always screw the spoilboard down with nylon screws. Makes a big difference.

Your lacking density with the lightweight mdf. Use standard mdf and should be fine. Banding edges is helpful.
