Used Omnitech CNC upgrade
9/7/23
Hi everyone.Wondering if anyone has any input on a used cnc, we are considering 2 machines, both are Omnitech Selexx pal, both look very nice, one is 2014 with 3400 hours the other a 2006 with 1050 hours. Would we be further ahead buying the newer one with higher hours vs the one with less hours but older? I guess the main reason for asking is we are unsure on what is considered high hours on a cnc like this?

If it has a Fanuc controller it is supported by them for 25 years. The 2014 has more support remaining. The hours on both machines is low so maybe not much of a determining factor. Based on that if they both look good and were maintained properly I would be inclined to go with the 2014. How do they compare in price?

Thanks Gary. Yes it is Fanuc. Also pricing is basically the same.

I would avoid Omni-tech at all cost.
I had one for 4 years until I was forced into an upgrade. I dealt with way too much downtime with that machine. I had to keep a number of parts in stock because they would break way too quickly. Service was pretty bad. I know they got purchased by Andi so I am not sure how the service is now.

Sorry you had a bad experience Stefan. I've had two of them and have had very few problems and good support. With their help we have done our own repairs.
