Drill Bank Operation

My shop runs an Omnitech Selexx PAL. we have a drill bank and no idea how to use it. any manual had long since been lost and I can find nothing online. Would anybody be able to point me in the right direction in finding a manual or how to video, anything? Thank you in advance.

What are you using for software?

The drill bank works off of the G55 work offset.
From my understanding they made several different drill bank configurations. All the M and B codes and configuration should be done in you S2M software

THAT is a fantastic question. I have no clue. I'm very new to the CNC game. So, to be honest...I have no idea what any of that means right now. But I will have to find out.

As for what software we use, are you asking what program we use to write cnc files? or are you asking about which software runs the cnc machine itself?

Yes. What is the program writing the CNC files? You should have a Fanuc I/O controller.

G55 tells the machine where the drill block is in relation to the spindle

Not everything here translates 100% to your machine, but it helped me understand a lot of the ins and out, and why we would encounter certain problems when I was just starting out.

Thank you for the link, I will definitely check it out. As for the program, we use Enroute. I'm told we've never had cause to use to drill bank, but were looking into how in case the occasion arises.

I would contact Enroute about getting the proper training and post processor so move forward

In EnRoute, under machine setup / driver you have to select "Has Drill" then setup your drill bank according to your actual machine setup. The help section covers this pretty well.

We use the drill bank to drill 5 adjustable shelf holes at a time, hinge screw holes, assembly holes and much more. You don't have to tie up tool changer capacity with boring tools.
