1/2 inch compression Vs 3/4 inch melamine Burning
11/20/23
Hello Everyone,
First time posting on here but have a dilemma. I have 2 SCM n100 CNC's and 1 Homag N700 CNC. We typically run a 1/2 inch compression as our main cutting tool through 3/4 inch melamine. Feed is 25 meters/min spindle speed is 18k RPM. (.018 Chipload). We have ran this setup for a couple years averaging 80 to 120 sheets of material per bit. Within the last 2 months we started burning out our bits and chipping material around 20 sheets. Manufacturer said there has not been any changes to the core of the melamine but i highly doubt that's the case as its happening on all 3 machines. Any insight or is anyone else having issues at this time?
Thanks

Anytime I have that issue, its always an issue with the board manufacturer. Try another vendor for a time.

Has to be the board, we have a customer experience this very same thing. Board supplier confirmed bad board and replaced entire unit.

Thanks for all of the responses, it was bad board. Manufacturer had put too thick of a coat of white melemnine.
