Cosmec Conquest 250

The tool I was last cutting with is stuck in the spindle and will not release for a tool change (it just times out), or for a manual M code input. My pop up alignment pins quit working at about the same time. I first thought this might be caused by a new post I'm using since a software upgrade, but also not releasing the tool with manual input makes me think I may have an air problem somewhere. I've tried tapping sideways on the tool holder with a hammer and even light prying, but nothing so far. I continue to be unable to find any concise info regarding schematics or air system configuration. Any help would be appreciated as I'm currently cutting everything with one tool.

When was the last time you lubricated the drawbar? This us an important part of spindle maintenance.

Lee,
It is a very unique problem if both your pop up pins and your drawbar stopped working at the same time.
1. It very well could be that you have low pressure in your system.
2. if you are not running a air dryer to condition and remove moisture from the compressed air coming from your compressor it could be that water has "gummed up the works".
Let me know we can get the factory involved.

If you don't change tools over an extended period, moisture (even from the air) can stick your drawbar.
Mine wouldn't release auto or manually.
Manually remove the bit, collet and locknut, leaving the tool holder in the spindle and spray some penetrating oil up in the small hole with the spray straw to lube the drawbar. Let it sit a few minutes.
I restarted and
called a program requiring tool change
and the tool holder released as normal.
I then cleaned the tool holder and lubricated with metaflux and brush and tightened up on my tool change cycles and metaflux applications
Hope this helps
