Dust collector remote

I have a 5hp 220 volt Baleigh dust collector and need a new remote. Their parts department says they are not carrying them anymore. My collector is 20’ from the front of my Bander and on top of a 4’high box for the ducting to be hooked up properly and we need a new remote and am looking for some advise. Electricians want a fortune to move the starter box on the collector 20’ towards the front of the machine so we can avoid the remote and don’t know how to do this myself. Any advice would be appreciated

I've been using a wireless remote for my cnc dust collector for years. They're available for machines up to a 40 amp draw, so your 5 hp collector should work no problem. I found mine on Amazon, they go for $20 - $50.

Oneida has a remote that is installed inside the magnetic starter box and just acts like you are pushing the button. When I got one it was something in the $75 range. Sort of easy to install. It's small enough but there isn't always a lot of room in the starter boxes. It's RF and not IR so line of sight isn't required to activate it.

    There are often situations when the original message asks for opinions: "What is the best widget for my type of shop?". An open ended question (like the one above) invites responses that may read as sales pitches. WOODWEB suggests that companies responding to such a question provide detailed and substantive replies rather than responses that read as a one-sided product promotion.
