Using AAA gun on a Kremlin pump7/5
I have an existing kremlin pump that Iím setting up and need a spray gun to go with it. Due to the high cost of kremlins gun Iím thinking of using a AAA gun from CA Technologies. Does anyone have experience with this setup? Thanks for any advice.
simple, unscrew the outlet double male fluid outlet nipple that is a npt x jic fitting and replace it with npt x npt double male nipple, buy a standard npt x npt 3/16 air assist hose from and the nipple from the cat dealer and you will be good to go, the standard kremlin air hose will fit right on the the cat gun. the entire process will take you less than five minutes. don't buy the conversion fitting that hangs off the fluid inlet fitting of the cat gun just adds weight and bulkiness to the gun, plus the standard hose, npt ends aa hose costs less than the jic hose end aa hose
good luck herb j
That setup will work no problem, you just need the right fittings in case you run into a thread issue somewhere, it is my experience that with the exception of a different inline filter set up that most decent guns will attach directly to the fluid line.
just fine... you just have to do a little light plumbing with correct fittings/hoses... My personal setup for home is a kremlin 10:1 with a graco G15 gun..... great combo
I use the CAT aaa gun and I probably dislike it. It sprays great. But it's heavy, awkeard, in-ergonomic, and often it pinchrs my hand. I disconnected the gun and for aaa I use Graco G40. It's the same gun that Shane uses but with some slight differences, but the same weight and shape. It's probably the best gun, ergonomically, in use. According to Graco it is, lol. I believe them.
Ok, so I can't figure out how to add throat oil to the Graco pump. On the CAT pumps and the Kremlin pumps it's so easy. Graco design turns it into a mystety. Tech support emailed me yesterday and I'm still lost.
The CAT gun sprays great. I cannot stand their nut design to access the fluid filter. If I had a third hand like Judd Nelson in the movie "The Dark Backward", but I don't. I wrapped two CAT guns in plastic bags and I shuttle the Graco G40 between the Graco pump for pigmented and the CAT pump with its boa constrictor hose for clearcoats.
Yes, you can use your Kremlin pump with the CAT gun. The CAT pumps that I'm using are 14:1 pumps. (The Graco is a 30:1 pump).
