The Wood Education and Resource Center of Princeton, WV is hosting a one day workshop on Thick Lumber Live Edge Slab Businesses on Friday, October 20th, 2020 at the WERC at 301 Hardwood Lane in Princeton, WV. This workshop focuses on the business of sawing, drying and marketing thick lumber live edge slabs that have a growing popularity for seating, table tops and restaurant furniture.
We will have a group of top performing thick lumber slab business owners leading the discussions that include sourcing logs, sawing strategies, equipment, air and kiln drying and marketing. Additionally we will have a demonstration of sawing slabs using local WV hardwood logs.
The cost is $45 per attendee and online registration can be found at https://liveedgeslab.eventbrite.com. Checks are taken by mail made out to SEDKC and mailed to Phil Mitchell, NCSU, Campus Box 8003, Raleigh, NC 27695. A buffet lunch will be provided. The workshop registration opens at 8 am and the workshop runs from 9 am to 4 pm.
