Electric chainsaws

Howdy all,
I was just wondering what the general consensus is on cordless electric chainsaws for trimming tree branches that are 6-8 inch.
Do you think they are reliable and powerful enough for this type of work on a regular basis please?

I should have added I was looking at https://toolinspector.com/best-electric-chainsaw/ and was looking particularly at the Dewalt cordless electric chainsaw kit.

If regular basis means for professional daily use, then I say stay with gas. If it means once a week, then electric is great. If electric means batteries only, I have no experience.

I actually bought a Makita 2-18volt(36v) 16" to drag out to the splitter so when there's something just a bit too long I can trim it. If you're actually doing any long term cutting then of course not but for light trimming 6"-8" it works fine.

This thread seems a bit old, but I will go ahead and throw my two cents in for posterity on whoever else might come along to read this question. Generally speaking, if you are going to be cutting branches on a regular basis...gas is the way to go. I suspect that you already suspected that or you wouldn't have asked. Electric is not going to hold up and the battery electric is certainly not going to hold up. If you are planning on using this to operate a local tree service (in other words anything like in the link below)...your best bet is gas. PERIOD.
