Black & Decker router for beads along curved edge

When I was an apprentice I worked in a shop that had a B&D router that we used to to put a bead along a curved edge. A bearing would follow the edge and it had a cage-like piece that acted as a depth adjuster over the bit. It was approximately the same size as a laminate trimmer. Does anyone know what I'm trying to describe and have any information about it? Thanks.

My Boach Colt has an edge guide that can guide a bit a fixed distance from the edge
Also has PR003 roller guide depending on your application
Used with beading bit

Old Black & Decker industrial routers that were colored black are very good quality. The original 1st generation Dewalt's were yellow B&D Industrial. Then they managed to ruin them like everything else B&D touches.

We used to make a custom solid wood base plate that was curved. We had a huge cabinet job that had beaded doors and the architect had most of them as beaded/flat panel. It was a skill to hold the router on the tangent.

My first thought would be to make a base plate with 2 contact points like a combination square with the round/center line head. It would be easier to hold the tangent and it would work on any curve or radius. Maybe a couple of dowels fastened in parallel to a router base plate.

An open ended question (like the one above) invites responses that may read as sales pitches. WOODWEB suggests that companies responding to such a question provide detailed and substantive replies rather than responses that read as a one-sided product promotion.
