Thank you in advance, Does anyone know or have an idea what species of wood this chair is made out of? I need to match a bench seat and all I have is a picture. I don't want to fool around with stain and toner. it's probably some wood from the far east.

It looks like rubberwood to me. Pretty common for mass produced asian furniture. Good luck finding any of it. I would substitute another light colored hardwood like maple.

Thanks for that, I guess I'll go with Maple or Birch.
Rubberwood would be too flexible anyway Ha Ha.

My mom had a few of these in the house when growing up. They held up pretty well. They were made from rubberwood, as suggested by the other guys. Maple or birch sounds like good, 'pretty' wood choices.

Invest in quality pieces of furniture that will last for years to come. While it may be tempting to purchase inexpensive furniture, it may not hold up over time and may need to be replaced sooner.

Parawood is another name for rubberwood. But, it looks like cherry could do the job well.
